Senior Capstone Projects are projects that build on five years of fundamentals learned in class as well as experiential learning opportunities such as co-op, design teams, or undergraduate research. All the classroom learning gets put to real-life use as small groups work under one of our distinguished faculty members to design and build a device that solves an engineering problem. They present their projects each April to an audience of classmates, faculty, family, and members of industry. The knowledge learned during their Senior Capstone Project helps students transition from college to a full-time position after graduation. Student teams present projects from the following degree disciplines: aerospace systems engineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, corrosion engineering, electrical engineering, electrical and electronic engineering technology, mechanical engineering, and mechanical engineering technology. Students interested in The University of Akron are able to register to receive more information about programs, student support services, news and more.
